In October 2026, Scantrol service engineers joined HS Marine in Italy for the factory acceptance test (FAT) of an HS Marine crane with mTrack active heave compensation controller. Together with HS Marine’s engineers, our team ran Dynatest, optimised the AHC system and trained HS Marine’s team hands-on along the way.
Why AHC tuning works best side by side
With new OEM partners, we put real effort into the first projects. Their engineers know the crane, and ours know the control system. Working side by side during FAT is the fastest way to transfer that knowledge, so their team can test, tune and commission with confidence going forward.
Tools built for the OEM’s own team
Dynatest and Auto Calibration are two of the six tools in the Scantrol AHC Toolbox, all included with Scantrol AHC. Dynatest lets engineers test and tune AHC at dockside. Auto Calibration automatically calibrates the winch or cylinder for changing characteristics, and does not require an expert in the field.
Who does what in an OEM integration
Scantrol provides the controller, licensed functionality, integration resources, training and documentation. The OEM owns the complete machine, PLC, safety functions, installation, final acceptance and certification, unless otherwise agreed for the specific project. Visits like this one are about building the OEM’s own competence within that split. When questions come up later, OTA assistance is included free of charge for the duration of the warranty period.
HS Marine is an Italian crane manufacturer and the latest addition to Scantrol’s mTrack partner network. An increasing number of Italian crane manufacturers now integrate mTrack for offshore crane AHC.
We look forward to continuing the work with HS Marine. Thanks to the team for the hospitality and the collaboration.
