SYM 7 Snag Detector monitors wire pull and winch movement to detect when the trawl tends to get fast on the bottom. The Snag Detector will give an early warning when a trawl door starts to snag and alert the skipper to monitor the situation.
Some of the most experienced skippers work their gear efficiently on the soft bottom by monitoring Snag Detector alerts and activating the Length Lock function as soon as the doors or clumps tend to dig down in the bottom.
Reduce Gear Damage
Snag Detector will display red warnings when a snagging situation is detected. The illustrations show a situation where the doors started to dig down into the soft bottom.
With early warning, the skipper can react and prevent the doors to dig down into the mud.
