We are now seeking a Service Engineer to join our technical team in Bergen. The right candidate will play a key role in commissioning, testing, and supporting our control systems worldwide.
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you will take part in the installation, verification, and support of Scantrol’s control systems on a variety of vessels and offshore installations. You will collaborate closely with our R&D and project engineering teams to ensure reliable performance and customer satisfaction. You’ll manage and support distributors and OEMs, identify new opportunities, and work closely with our technical and marketing teams.
This is a hands-on position that combines technical troubleshooting, customer interaction, and fieldwork both onshore and offshore. This position involves travel both domestically and internationally, including assignments offshore and on board vessels.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in internal testing and verification of control systems (IAT/SAT)
Identify, correct, and document technical deviations in control systems
Take part in system commissioning and sea trials, travel will be required
Provide technical customer support (remote and on-site)
Participate in a rotating on-call service schedule outside office hours
Assist project engineers with PLC programming and system configuration
Contribute to documentation and testing procedures when needed
Who You Are
Qualifications
Education in automation, electrical engineering, or similar (certificate of apprenticeship or technical college)
Experience with control systems and PLC programming
Skilled in testing and troubleshooting technical systems
Good computer and IT proficiency, with ability to learn new systems quickly
Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English, both oral and written
Valid driver’s license (Category B)
